Access and loading instructions

Permission or permit

Permit required. Applicant must complete the Fire Hydrant Meter Permit Application and return it to ubcontact@tuscaloosa.com or hand deliver it to the Business Office at 2230 Gary Fitts St.

Entrance instructions

Customer Service Center is on the first floor of City Hall Annex III at the corner of 23rd Avenue and Gary Fitts Street.

Loading instructions

Removal or relocation requires a separate Fire Hydrant Meter Removal or Relocation form; technicians remove the meter and final-bill usage.

Additional notes

Water is obtained only from an approved hydrant after the program requirements are completed. Tuscaloosa publicly posts a Fire Hydrant Meter Permit Application and a Fire Hydrant Meter Removal or Relocation form for higher-volume temporary water needs.
