Permission or permit

Upon application to the Utilities Department, a permit for a fire hydrant water meter may be issued for a maximum period of 30 days and may be renewed for additional 30-day periods with approval of the Utilities Department.

Additional notes

Water is obtained only from an approved hydrant after the program requirements are completed. Northport states that non-firefighting water taken from a fire hydrant must be metered and that the city installs the hydrant meter.

This map pin represents the program office for applications, permits, payment, account setup, or equipment pickup. Water is not available at this office unless explicitly stated; actual water withdrawal occurs only at an approved hydrant or approved location.
